Sister, Catch This Dime
A poem by Luisah Teish

I imagine that human beings could interface with beings from other dimensions without waging war. But we’d have to give up fear.

I imagine that humans could preserve the beauty and balance of nature.
But we’d have to give up greed.

I imagine that humans could realize true kinship.
But we’d have to accept that we are all equally human.

I imagine that every culture has a gift to share.
But we’d have to practice humility in order to learn from each other.

I imagine that women, men, and children could live in peaceful communities. But we’d have to respect the divine in each other.

Luisah Teish is a writer, performer, priestess of Oshun, and ritual designer. She currently lives in San Francisco, California.
