Publications, Position Papers, and Reports
An important role that a Non-Governmental Organization plays in its relationship
with the United Nations is one of being an effective communicator. Each NGO is
recognized for its expertise through which resolutions, declarations and programs
of actions are translated and made simple, in order to be understood by people.
People whose lives are affected by the decisions made by the United Nations.
The publications and position papers on the different issues published by
the Brahma Kumaris over the years are written using our expertise of value-based
approaches to help in the solution of the various problems.
In examining causes and cures of topics such
as conflict, violence, abuse, environmental disharmony and social disintegration,
respect for the innate worth of human being is put at
the center of the discussion and the moral and spiritual dimension is highlighted.
The BKUN News is like a quilt of many patches, giving a glimpse of the diverse activities
with which the BKs are involved. Being an organization with so many bases around the world,
we support activities at many different levels of participation. The aim of the BKUN News
is not so much to be a ‘hot off the press’ publication as to catch the flavor of the events
covered, especially the range and depth of BK involvement.
