Living Peace in Extraordinary Times

The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University has been involved in celebrating the International Day of Peace since its creation in 1981 and are now represented on the NGO Committee for the International Day of Peace, which co-ordinates preparations for the day and encourages NGO activities around the world.

In 2004 we launched our contribution to IDP with an event called "Living Peace in Extraordinary Times" on the East Coast of the USA, in New York City, on Tuesday, September 14:

In an evening with Dadi Janki, investigative reporter Roberta Baskin got real answers for real people from a person who has been practicing the powers of silence and peace for more than 70 years.

This year, 2004, September 21 was on Tuesday. We have asked all our centers on this day to dedicate an hours meditation to the International Day of Peace (IDP).

We invited our regular students, our contacts, and the general public to observe IDP by reflecting on the significance of the spiritual power of peace. We have also invited the centers to organise activities that give diverse expression to the value of peace, e.g. an event, peace workshop, or other activity.
